Connecting the World, Shaping the Future
Our team plays a key leadership role in Ohio’s Broadband and 5G Workforce strategy, serving on the Sector Partnership Management Team. We contribute across all project areas, including outreach, workforce entry, data evaluation, and education and training.
Specifically, we lead the curriculum and program development working group, analyzing the technical skills needed in the workforce, evaluating curriculum materials, and providing instructor support.

Aligned with the state’s effort to bring high-speed digital connectivity to each Ohioan, the Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) provides teacher instruction support. We’re here to help in areas such as classroom management and lesson plan development.
Broadband Infrastructure Training Program
In collaboration with Buckeye Hills Career Center, we created the Broadband Infrastructure Training Program Guide. This resource outlines a 215-hour program, resulting in four industry-recognized credentials: Certified Premises Cabling Technician, Certified Fiber Optics Technician, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid. The guide includes instructor eligibility and preparation, curriculum and sequencing, materials and equipment costs, lab station setup, and alignment to Ohio career-technical education content standards.

We have developed contextualized lesson plans for premises cabling and fiber optics as well as employability skills. The lesson plans are designed to be free and off-the-shelf resources. Feel free to download and use the lesson plans provided below.
